Lloyd B. Davis   Richard Rienstra (Dick)

Club member from 1981-1999

Mr. Davis was a Teacher and principal outside of the club, but he brought that sense of discipline and leadership to all that he did. He served as club president & Treasurer many times. He was a wise advisor to the club and always strived to improve the clubs membership.

He was the club's delegate to all district level activities and events and tried to keep the club well informed. He was also a co-founder of the Leo Club. In addition he was a major supporter of the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville. After his death in 1999 the club voted to rename the Scholarship in his honor and made a memorial donation to Lions Camp in his name.

Mr. Rienstra served as the club secretary for twenty consecutive years and was club Treasurer for part of that time.

After serving as secretary for so many years he felt it was time for someone younger to learn the duties.

Mr. Rienstra was an integral part of the club serving as the senior member and advisor. Dick was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002.

Robert D. Blackburn   Hubert A. Hilz (Hubie)

Club Member 1982- 2002

Mr. Blackburn was a dedicated man who joined the club to better serve his community. Robert was a big man not only in stature but in heart. In addition to serving as Treasurer he was the clubs Sergeant at Arms for all club functions and special events. One of the things that he was most proud of was that the club never refused to help any child.

After his death in 2001 the club honored him by adding his name to the Scholarship and made him a Melvin Jones Fellow. He is the only member of the club to receive this honor.

The Leo club members were recruited from all area high schools although most came from the classes Mr. Hilz taught.
